Justin Smith

Justin Aaron Smith was born in Bell County, Texas in September 1984. He received a BA in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of North Texas in 2007, with areas of study in comparative politics, international relations, and conflict resolution.  In 2010, he received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law, where he was extensively involved in Baylor’s mock trial advocacy program and served as an Associate Editor of the Baylor Law Review.

In law school, Justin interned for Chief Judge Walter Smith of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas and Judge Martin Hoffman of the 68th District Court of Texas.  After his second year, he clerked for Sommerman & Quesada, where he secured $3.2 million in a default judgment for the family of a Dallas firefighter involved in a fatal car wreck with a drunk driver.  Following graduation, he spent six months as a freelance attorney working with lawyers across Texas, mostly handling complex litigation issues.  He began his career at Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher & Perry in February 2011, where he practices in the area of catastrophic personal injury law [?].

Justin was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2010. In his spare time, Justin enjoys reading, watching movies and sports (particularly baseball and boxing), running, and playing his guitar.
